Questions About Wedding and Event Flowers

We are currently booking through 2027 for full-service weddings and events. South Stems is an event and corporate floral studio. We do not offer retail arrangements, same-day gift delivery or walk-in service.
When should we get in touch?
Once your date and your venue are both secured. We are unable to quote clients who have not yet secured a date and venue, so an inquiry before that point cannot go anywhere useful. Loop us in once you are there.
What happens after we inquire?
We schedule a brief call to learn what you are after. From there we build a mood board, then a customized proposal, and refine it over a few calls as the palette and the guest count settle.
Do you deliver, set up and break down?
Yes. We deliver personal flowers to wherever you are getting ready, install on site, move ceremony pieces into the reception where that makes sense, and come back to break the event down and collect our vessels.
Will you visit our venue beforehand?
If it is a room we have not flowered before, we go and measure the space while the design is being worked out. Several of the venues we work in most often, such as Osteria in Philadelphia, we already know well.
Where do your flowers come from?
Locally, whenever possible. We buy through the growers of the Philadelphia Floral Guild and from farms across New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and some stems are cut from our own growing space. Being plugged into the local flower community is the not-so-secret magic behind what makes South Stems different from a traditional flower shop.
What areas do you serve?
Camden, Gloucester and Burlington counties in New Jersey, Bucks and Delaware counties in Pennsylvania, and New Castle County in Delaware. That covers Audubon, Collingswood, Haddonfield, Cherry Hill and Philadelphia, and reaches the Jersey Shore.
What happens to the flowers after the event?
At a wedding at The Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia, the flowers were collected at the end of the night by Forget Me Knot, a floral repurposing nonprofit based in Haddonfield that breaks larger arrangements into bedside bud vases for hospital and nursing home residents. That event produced 50 arrangements donated to Temple Hospital. Ask us if it is something you would like to arrange.
Can I buy an arrangement or send flowers as a gift?
